  • Procedure for Changing of the Royal Palace Guard Ceremony

    • 1. The Royal Palace guards on duty are assigned to the Gwanghwamun Gate. At the first sound of the drums, the guards taking over leave for the Gate.
    • 2. At the second sound of the drums, the Royal Palace guards going on and off-duty make a military salute and identify themselves.
    • 3. The Royal Palace Guards are assigned to their duties under the command of their leader, who checks the state of the Gate and the conduct of the soldiers.
    • 4. The head of the Royal Palace guards and the officers who are off duty prepare to leave. At the third sound of the drums, they leave the Gate under the command of their leader.
